at the Floyd Center For the Arts,
220 Parkway Ln S, Floyd, VA 24091

Presented by Lee Hylton

Ancestral families were here with the first settlers in the area to become Floyd County, including the families of Hylton, Cox, Mabry, Quesenberry, Akers, Dulaney, Simpkins. Hollandsworth, Reynolds, Spence, Altizer, Phillips and Turpin.

Hylton grew up in Virginia Beach and went to university at VCU. He has worked as a programmer, server and network administrator, and IT security. He plays several instruments and informally studies the arts, physics, ancient history and Virginia colonial history.

Hylton became interested in genealogy about 30 years ago to fill in information beyond what was in the family bibles. When he could not find any landowners books or maps on Floyd or Fluvanna counties, he decided to take it up as a personal challenge.

This is a FREE Public Event. All are invited and encouraged to attend.
