Docent Training: Sunday, March 16, 2025, 2 PM to 3 PM at the museum (Can’t attend this session? We’ll set up a training time for you.)
Are you passionate about local history and enjoy meeting new people? The Floyd County Historical Society is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to become docents for our 2025 museum season!
Why Become a Docent?
- Lightweight, enjoyable role with short hours
- Casual attire and comfortable working conditions
- Fun and educational training provided
- Learn fascinating Floyd County history
- Share your knowledge with visitors from near and far
What You’ll Do:
- Welcome visitors to our museum
- Guide guests through exhibits
- Share interesting historical facts and stories
- Assist with gift shop sales
- Introduce visitors to our website, online store, and database
- Log any donations to the Society
When:
- Fridays and Saturdays, 12 PM to 4 PM
- Season runs from April 11 through December 6, 2025
Docent Training:

- Light refreshments provided
- Learn about current exhibits, museum protocols, and website highlights
