Floyd County Historical Society

250 Years of Patriotism and Service

The 2026 exhibit at the Floyd County Historical Society’s museum at the Ridgemont is a retrospective of military and civilian service from the Revolutionary War period to the present. Floyd County Revolutionary War patriots are featured, along with items of interest from the Civil War, Spanish American War, WWI, WWII, Korea, and the Vietnam War.

Drawn primarily from our collection, the photographs and artifacts highlight the men and women who have served our country. This exhibit honors the people of Floyd County who have served our nation on the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. We look forward to sharing our collection with you and hope you will share your own Floyd County service history with us.

Through personal stories, uniforms, documents, and memorabilia, the exhibit brings to life the sacrifices and achievements of area residents. Displays feature artifacts that connect Floyd County to pivotal moments in American history. We invite visitors of all ages to reflect on the meaning of service and to contribute their own memories or family histories.

Join us in commemorating the enduring spirit of patriotism that has shaped our community. Together, we honor the legacy of those who have served and inspire future generations to continue the tradition of service.
